New Salem Assembly of God Church

Meet the Pastor

New Salem Assembly of God is a congregation with a family atmosphere and we try to make everyone feel like they are coming home. This fellowship has been around since 1992 and has experienced the mighty hand of God as He established this church.

As the pastor of this church, we are full of fresh, new ideas and we are motivated by a renewed focus and purpose for our congregation. We are a church that no longer desires to be content with merely existing. Our people want to link arms with others who desire to make an impact in Petersburg, Menard County, Illinois, America and around the world.

Maybe it has been a while since you attended church or you maybe never have been to church at all. Perhaps you are looking for a place of worship that you can call home. It could be that you need a refuge from the storms of life. You may have even had a negative experience with church people in your past.

Wherever you are, no matter what has happened before, you know that there is something missing in your life right now. Let us encourage and care for you. Be our guest this Sunday. Come meet us and the God we serve. Only God can restore us and heal the brokenness that we all experience in our lives.

Find Him at New Salem Assembly.

Articles & Resources for Church Workers

  • Starting a Greeter Program
Four years ago I accepted the challenge of evangelism chairperson for our church. One of the first programs the pastor and I developed was the Sunday morning greeter program.
  • Motivating the Right Person into the Right Ministry
One of the greatest challenges for most leaders is selecting and motivating the right people into the right ministry positions in hopes of minimizing turnover and frustration. Even in the smaller church with limited personnel, it is important to coordinate people and ministry as much as possible.
  • “I TRIED, BUT NO ONE EVER CALLED ME”
“I tried, but no one ever called me” are painful words for a leader who has much work to do and not enough people willing to do it. These words are painful for the person who wanted to contribute, but was never called. These are also painful words for a person who is committed to helping people connect and contribute in meaningful ways within the church.
